City Backpackers Hostel

City Backpackers Hostel is a hostel in District 1 of Ho Chi Minh City, 600 m from Ben Thanh Market, with private rooms and dormitory beds under one roof. It suits independent travellers who want to stay in the centre of the city, and small groups who prefer a room of their own: the Superior Family Room sleeps up to three guests.

The four private rooms range from the 22 m² Superior Double Room to the 25 m² Deluxe Double Room with Balcony, and all have air conditioning and a private bathroom. The dormitory beds sit in rooms of 18, 40 and 50 m², with bunk beds in the 18 m² and 50 m² rooms and single beds in the 40 m² room.

Reception is staffed round the clock, and the tour desk can help arrange trips, with a tour or class about local culture also on site. The restaurant serves Asian vegetarian cuisine, with special diet menus on request. Ben Thanh Market is 600 m away, the Independence Palace 750 m and the War Remnants Museum 950 m, and Tan Son Nhat International Airport is 5.2 km away.

City Backpackers Hostel has four private rooms and three dormitory layouts. The private rooms, from 22 m² to 25 m², all have air conditioning, a flat-screen TV and a private bathroom, and three of them have a balcony over a quiet street. The Superior Family Room is the only private room for three guests.

In the dormitories you book a single bed: a bunk bed in the 18 m² four-bed room and in the 50 m² ten-bed mixed room, and a single bed in the 40 m² six-bed room, the only dormitory with a balcony. All three have air conditioning, soundproofing and a private entrance, and the four-bed and six-bed rooms also have a private bathroom.

Reception is staffed 24 hours a day, and the hostel has a tour desk, a currency exchange, luggage storage and lockers, so you can leave bags safely while you explore. Laundry and a minimarket on site cover everyday needs, and a shuttle service and an airport shuttle are offered.

The common areas include a shared lounge with TV, outdoor furniture, a shared kitchen and a lift to the upper floors, and a safety deposit box is available. The restaurant serves Asian vegetarian dishes, with special diet menus on request. Free WiFi is available in all areas and is free of charge.

In the rooms you find air conditioning, a private bathroom with toilet, shower, bidet, hairdryer, towels and slippers, plus a wardrobe or closet, cleaning products and toilet paper. Free public parking is available on site, but it has to be reserved in advance.

City Backpackers Hostel is on Nguyễn Trãi street in District 1, the central district of Ho Chi Minh City, with cafés and restaurants 50 m away, including Onezo Vietnam and Auguda Coffee. September 23 Park is 150 m away, the Chùa An Lạc pagoda 300 m and the Memorial Temple to Hung Kings 350 m, with Sri Mariamman Temple also 350 m away. The Saigon Evangelical Church and the Huyện Sỹ Church (St. Philip the Apostle) are each 500 m from the hostel.

For getting around, the Bến xe buýt Sài Gòn bus station is 500 m away and Saigon Railway Station 2.1 km, while Tan Son Nhat International Airport lies 5.2 km away. Ben Thanh Station is 550 m from the hostel, Ben Thanh Market 600 m and Thai Binh Market 650 m, both useful for food and everyday shopping.

Most of the sights are within 1 km: the Independence Palace is 750 m away, the Ho Chi Minh City Fine Arts Museum 700 m, the War Remnants Museum 950 m and the Museum of Ho Chi Minh City 950 m. Nha Rong Wharf on the Saigon River is 1.5 km away and Crescent Lake 5.6 km, so the central museums can be reached on foot from the hostel.
